The honest answer is that it depends on three things: the size of the space, how many guests were in it, and whether you need cleaning before the event, after it, or both. This guide gives you realistic ranges for Copenhagen and explains exactly what moves the price, so you can budget properly instead of guessing.
The short version
Cleaning is priced by time, with a team of two. As a rough guide for Copenhagen:
- A private flat after a party: usually 3 to 4 hours with a team of two.
- A rented venue for around 50 guests: usually 4 to 6 hours.
- A multi-day event or production: priced per day and per shift, agreed as a fixed total before the job starts.
Our rate starts at 650 kr. per hour including VAT, with a fixed transport fee of 100 kr. per booking. Cleaning products and equipment are included.
What actually moves the price
Guest numbers, more than square metres. A hundred people in a small venue creates more work than twenty people in a large one. Toilets, floors and bar areas take the load.
Whether alcohol was served. Spilled drinks, sticky floors and bottles change the job considerably. A seated dinner is faster to clean than a standing party with a bar.
Before, after, or both. Many bookings are only the clean afterwards. But if the space needs to look perfect when guests arrive, a pre-event clean is a separate visit.
Waste volume. Normal party waste is included and we take it with us. A large event producing crates, packaging and hundreds of bottles may need a trailer, which is agreed in advance.
Timing. Night and early-morning work is standard for events and does not automatically cost more, but it does need to be booked ahead. Same-day requests are rarely possible in peak season.
Renting a venue? The deposit is the real cost
Most rented party rooms, beboerlokaler and event venues in Copenhagen require the space to be returned cleaned and emptied of waste, and hold a deposit against it. The standard is usually stricter than people expect: floors mopped, kitchen degreased, appliances emptied, bins removed, toilets sanitised.
If the standard is not met, the venue cleans it themselves and deducts the cost from your deposit, usually at a rate well above what a cleaning company would have charged you. That is why professional cleaning is almost always cheaper than doing it badly at two in the morning.
Before you book, ask the venue what condition the space must be returned in, and tell your cleaning company. We clean to whatever standard the rental agreement specifies.
Private party, corporate event or production
These are three different jobs and it helps to know which one you are booking.
A private party is a single visit, usually the morning after. Straightforward and priced by the hour.
A corporate event or reception often needs the space back in working order before the next business day, which can mean an overnight shift.
A multi-day production, such as a pop-up, a brand activation or a public event, needs a schedule rather than a single booking: a clean after build, daily upkeep while it runs, and a full clean after de-rig. That is quoted per day and per shift.
What should be included in the price
When comparing quotes, check that these are in the figure and not added later: VAT, transport to and from the venue, all cleaning products and equipment, and removal of normal waste. If a quote looks unusually low, one of those is usually missing.
How to get an accurate quote
Three pieces of information are enough for us to give you a fixed price: the venue and its size, the number of guests, and whether you need cleaning before the event, after it, or both. If it is a multi-day event, add the opening hours and the dates.
Frequently asked questions
Can you clean the same night the party ends?
Yes, when booked in advance. Night and early-morning slots are the most common for event work, and they are exactly why you book a company rather than doing it yourself.
Do you take the empty bottles and rubbish away?
Yes. Normal event waste is removed, sorted and driven to the recycling centre. For very large volumes we agree a trailer or several runs beforehand.
Is event cleaning tax-deductible?
For businesses, cleaning is a deductible operating expense in Denmark. The private servicefradrag applies to cleaning in your own home, so a party in your own flat may qualify on the labour cost, while a rented venue does not.
How far ahead should I book?
As early as you can, especially for weekends and for anything running several days. Event work blocks a team for consecutive shifts, so dates go quickly in peak season.
